It continues to amaze us that the success of Reimagine2021 conferences are driven by the overwhelming demand from people all around the world trying to understand “What is blockchain?.” But let’s backtrack to the beginning. The birth of Reimagine dates back to May 2020. With this event we set a new standard for bringing together industry leaders and projects to viewers, during a time when networking and traveling were nearly abolished by Covid. Even prior to Covid, attending an exclusive Blockchain conference required expensive admission tickets, plane rides, hotels and the unspoken benefit of working in the crypto industry just to gain insight into the technology. But why?! Our team decided to toss these unnecessary barriers and opened the doors to crypto for everyone. Our mission: produce the highest quality content and make it easily accessible from anywhere in the world for free!. Borderless and Permissionless. With everything in mind, we brought you another stacked line up- Reimagine v9.0 Game of Chains: Battle for the Throne! Our 9th event didn’t disappoint!
Reimagine taps into the MouseBelt (P-Rep) ecosystem for deliverables: providing influential speakers, innovative projects and thought leaders. Discussions target disruption, purpose and the impact of this technology that may potentially be even greater than the creation of the internet itself.

The best part of Reimagine is that our interviews are available for free on Youtube. We’ve been around long enough to interview some of the industries most respected leaders and projects pushing the boundaries of technology. Within this notable group is the core ICON team. Reimagine v9 kicks off a discussion with Min Kim (Founder and Council Member at ICON Foundation) elaborating on ICON’s focus around interoperability and the ability of blockchain to augment legacy financial systems. ICON has undergone some recent updates and upgrades such at BTP, ICON 2.0 and ICE providing cross chain features (Mins full interview). They have been able to tackle these challenges to drive developer growth allowing innovation to blossom. We interviewed Scott Smiley co-founder of ICX station, early contributor for Balanced Network and core member of the ICON team who has been a strong leader in the community driving engagement and participation of the network. He breaks down some of the projects that are focused on UI/UX, utility of ICX and their objectives providing solutions to ICX holders (Scott’s full interview).
Ecosystem Perspectives
We thought it would be wise to also invite other contributors in the ICON network, core members of Dapps and P-Reps to get their thoughts and perspectives. These interviews included: Geometry labs, Parrot9, ICONOsphere and MouseBelt. Their active participation and collective efforts focus around usability. The UI/UX component is a factor to onboard more users ultimately appealing to the broader market. We learned how critical this juncture is to bring in retail users and investors to the ICON network. One of the many challenges around Dapps, especially in DeFi, is they can be very cumbersome to use, clunky and all around difficult to navigate. These teams have been able to prioritize these barriers in order to provide a better user experience. Crypto Giveaway
With such international demand from Reimagine supporters around our video content, we wanted to reward those in our community who supported our main initiatives: Blockchain education and crypto adoption. University Engagement
One of the largest university initiatives in the world that focuses on blockchain education is the MouseBelt University program. The program also includes Mousebelt’s Blockchain Education Alliance (ICON is a founding member) where they work with thousands of students from over 100+ universities and continues to support the future workforce of tomorrow. Throughout the Reimagine conferences we’ve had 30+ universities across 10 countries participate. We host campus meet ups for many of the student clubs/orgs where ICON and Balanced have been a part of talking about the network, educating those interested in blockchain and ways they can get involved.
