Darkness Hears a Silence

Why Does Silence Accompany Darkness?

Odd how silence is the sound of darkness;
that the two are so entwined
Night rises, filling the sky by
draining the sun
and the world grows mute
Nocturnal hunters,
stealthy and silent, roam until
sun rouses everything —
rushing, chattering —
while the moon and stars argue
for soft contemplation
A vast library where quiet…
