I’m Asking For A Breakthrough…

My feet are clad in colorful socks. My tongue is covered in canker sores.

I downed a carton of French fries despite the way the salt burned every centimeter of my mouth. Afterwards I swear I could feel my heart giving up—metaphorically and literally.

So I pack up my things haphazardly. I’m not going anywhere, but maybe if I act as if I am, I’ll reap the benefits of the placebo effect…
