Your Gavel’s Nothing But An Ugly Hammer

You’re safe behind the bench,
in your flowing robe,
gavel in hand,
passing judgment upon me,
deciding how I will live my life,
and if I disobey,
you will be swift with verdict,
stripping years from my life
as I reside in a cage.
You decide what’s best for me.
I don’t have a say.
I don’t have a voice
or a body.
I just am for you, only you
because you think you have it all,
but you know nothing.
