Lawrence Hui, Co-founder and CTO At Moveco
Lawrence is a serial entrepreneur, tech enthusiast and experience fullstack developer. He has a strong background in math, fintech and blockchain Technology. Lawrence previously worked as an exotic options trader, a structurer, and built real-time trading tools from scratch. Lawrence has built a tech consulting company, Sanuker Group (part of Green Tomato Group) and also has worked on over 30 other projects ranging from web applications, e-commerce site, mobile apps, building real-time system for bookings, business analytics intelligence and messenger-related development (messenger apps and chatbots).
Lawrence started his career in mobility building Cove, a car sharing company for closed communities. Cove raised seed funding from InMotion Ventures, Jaguar Land Rover’s investment arm and was part of INFINITI LAB 3.0 program in Hong Kong. While building Cove, Lawrence identified a gap in the market as car sharing technologies were both invasive & brand specific. Moveco was founded to solve this problem & Lawrence spearheaded the first Drivebox in 2017. Drivebox is used to not only read car status & driving behaviour but also used to remotely control the car to allow unlocking/locking through the app without rewiring. Drivebox-Lite was founded for corporate partners (eg. insurance companies & fleet management companies) looking mainly to read driving behavior & car status (often used in usage based insurance programs & and now used in Level 2 of Moveco’s App).
With all these accomplishments and experience under his belt Lawrence Hui has dedicated his experience and knowledge to Moveco, where he believes a mobility ecosystem is important, consumers should play a big role in it & be rewarded while doing so.
A fun fact about Lawrence, he runs a small Hong Kong mining site for fun & loves doing mining consultation for larger scale miners (particularly in the real estate world). He also works on Ethereum and with ZenSystem.
