Moveco is a mobility ecosystem designed to turn your miles into rewards. What it effectively does is it reads & understands your movement and for every distance covered it rewards you with its very own tokens, called MOV. Sounds simple, right? Well, not for our technical staff, that has put in immense effort and dedication to bring out such a streamlined solution that calls for literally no effort from our consumers. Moveco App lets you earn every time you move your car. It lets you enjoy a safer, smarter drive every single time you hit the ignition. To put it simply, you can now be a positive contributor to the future of mobility.
Moveco’s journey started in the foundation of Cove, a luxury car sharing service. Cove came into existence in 2017, with the founders Lawrence and XT raising funding from InMotion Ventures, Jaguar Land Rover’s investment arm. While working on Cove, the duo realized there was a need for car sharing technology that was non-invasive & that worked on various brands of cars. Car sharing technology was simply too invasive, too restrictive or had required modifications on the car itself.
Within months, under a new technology company Moveco, Lawrence and XT successfully developed Drivebox V1, a technology device installed and tested in Jaguar and Land Rover vehicles through Cove. What came after that was an explosion of continued tests of Drivebox in partnership with various large dealerships and car manufacturers. In Q3 of last year, they began collecting useful data insights through Cove and started engaging with corporate customers interested in our Drivebox technology. By the end of 2017, the duo had joined the INFINITI 3.0 accelerator program in Hong Kong. Both worked closely with the luxury car manufacturer to further develop the Drivebox technology through Cove.
Through working with various stakeholders in the industry (eg. insurance companies and car manufacturers), Lawrence realized the importance of car generated data for these parties. Car manufacturers needed more vehicle usage data to build a better car of the future while insurance companies needed more driving behaviour data to understand how to use technology to price the risk. While there was a consensus on the need to gather data , Lawrence also knew how important it was to keep things transparent and involve the consumers in the entire process. Unlike most other companies who force data monetization on consumers without any gratification, there was a desire to reward the consumers for sharing the car-generated data. That is when the idea of a Moveco App was founded.
We started building partnership for the Moveco app in January of this year and the development of the pilot version successfully started this March. The sale of our MOV tokens will launch very soon, integrating them with Cove’s payment channels. We are also building partnerships with potential data users with the aim of revolutionising mobility for the benefit of everyone. With the Moveco app, we want our customers to share their mobility data with us, and help the society in urban planning as well as building the next generation vehicles. The future of autonomous vehicles is here and we want our customers to be a part of this.
Here at Moveco, we will reward our customers for the data they share with us. So with every mile driven, our customers are instantly rewarded with MOV tokens that they can then use on our redemption platform. Get a discount on gas or your next ride on Grab! We also understand that self-driving is not the only way for our consumers to move. In fact, real mobility is multi-modal. It might be that you choose to walk to work when the weather is great outside or that you take car sharing/hire services like Cove and Uber. For us, all this data is valuable, and we want to reward you for every way you move. To address this, we have formulated 3 ways for you to earn MOV tokens with Moveco App:
1. General Mobility Data. Simply download the Moveco App and let it run in your device’s background. Moveco will collect this general mobility data and send it back to its network anonymously.
2. Driving Behaviour Data. This will involve you installing Drivebox Lite or any other telematics device by Moveco and partners (other companies with OBD-II device). The driving behaviour & the status of your car will be collected. With the real-time diagnostics of your car, you will be able to use them with our partners’ insurance companies for lower premiums.
3. Autonomous Driving Data. You will be installing a technologically advanced hardware from our partners, such as Lidar technology, which is widely used around the world in training autonomous vehicles. Users will be rewarded for their participation in the form of MOV tokens which can then be regularly used on the Moveco redemption platform as well as Moveco loyalty program.
We already have some fantastic loyalty partners where you can redeem your MOV tokens, including Esso, Shell, Grab and our favourite, Starbucks! This list of partners is expected to grow enormously this year as we look to bring more benefits to you.
