It’s a very strange time in the creative world (and the world at large). Some countries have relaxed their rules, some haven’t. Some people are returning to ‘normal’, some aren’t. With that in mind, this week’s Creativity Under Quarantine features explore the themes of travel, distance, and connection.

Jon Constantinou

Camera operator, moVI operator, and drone pilot in Radlett, UK.

A Highland Journey was edited during lockdown to remind people, and myself, of the reason why we work in the creative industries.

I hope it brings a welcome distraction to the news cycle and allows people to momentarily disconnect.

Adrian Wolfson

Cinematographer, director, and photographer working in London and New York.

This film is about human connection even when there are barriers. It was shoot under covid restrictions and the whole shoot was filmed to show how its possible to still work with restrictions in place. Using semi opaque material is an apt metaphor for how we have to work and live.

We had multiple streaming cameras for people in different studios within the building and we had off site conversations with crew to make this project.

Brett Chapman / Brettinthecity

Director working in South Yorkshire UK.

Back in 2008 Brett hitchhiked across Europe with his best friend. No smartphones, no Google maps. It was a crazy, formative adventure captured in glorious SD! For the last 10 years that footage has gathered dust on harddrives and tapes — until now! The Hitchhiker’s Guide To Growing up is a documentary micro-short. Originally created for LaCie’s COLLECTIVE #FOUNDFOOTAGECHALLENGE.

‘Part of a series of ‘One Minute Docs’ I’ve decided to make during lockdown.’
