Let’s face it, a big part of what makes Tom Holland’s Spider-Man so endearing is the fact that the actor himself is a real-life Peter Parker. He’s kindhearted, athletic, doesn’t know when to keep quiet with confidential information, and most importantly, he’s remarkably accident-prone. The actor is keen on performing his own stunts, but that commitment has come with a hefty price, mainly for his nose.

During The Lost City of Z’s panel at the 2016 New York Film Festival, the actor revealed he broke his nose while trying to prove his acrobatic prowess to the film’s director, James Gray:

“I remember hitting my face on the floor going, ‘S — t! That didn’t happen.’ I stood up, I thought I knocked my teeth out, and the makeup artist was laughing at me. And when she saw my face, it went from like ‘Haha’ to ‘Oh, medic, medic!’”

Unfortunately for the young man, he didn’t have much time to recover from such a hit. Less than a year later, the actor took to Twitter to announce that he had broken his nose once again, during filming for his upcoming sci-fi adventure, Chaos Walking. Surprisingly, that wasn’t the end of Holland’s painful nose saga.

Tom Holland Has Broken His Nose For The Third Time

Nope, folks, this isn’t a joke. Twitter user @trinityxholland and Reddit user alexperri7 recorded one of #TomHolland’s most recent Instagram stories, where he revealed his third nasal trauma:

In the video, Holland made a joke about the difficulty of making movies, and showed fans his painful injury while holding a pack of ice:

“Who said acting was easy, huh? Broken nose #3… what a way to finish a movie.”

Yikes… that looks really painful. Which movie he wrapped is unclear, but the actor has been working on #Avengers4 and #ChaosWalking for the past month, so we’ll have to wait for production updates on those project to know for sure.

Now, as a fan on Twitter pointed out, Marvel and Disney are probably going to be quite worried about the well-being of Holland’s facial features:

The user isn’t exaggerating. During the aforementioned NYFF panel, Holland revealed the superhero-centric studio was … well, a bit concerned with his first fracture: “I remember Marvel asking me what happened. Marvel were like ‘What happened to your face?’ I was like, ‘Oh, I just fell over […] I’m in trouble now, thanks James [Gray].”

Hey, let’s look on the bright side of this whole situation: Holland enjoys doing his own stunts, so these sorts of injuries are making him a tougher performer. Here’s hoping his nose stays safe in the future (although, at this point, let’s face it, that’s probably not happening).

If you want to see more of Tom Holland on the big screen, he’ll return to the MCU as Spider-Man/Peter Parker in #AvengersInfinityWar, which hits theaters on May 4, 2018. He’ll also star in Chaos Walking alongside Daisy Ridley. The movie is scheduled for release on March 1, 2019.
