We Need Another Great Golf Movie

Consider the top 5 golf movies of all time:

  • Caddyshack (1980)
  • Happy Gilmore (1996)
  • Tin Cup (1996)
  • The Legend of Bagger Vance (2000)
  • The Greatest Game Ever Played (2005)

Now name another.

You can’t — that’s the end of the list. Any attempted Top 10 out there will weakly add something like Caddyshack 2 (4% on Rotten Tomatoes )or A Gentleman’s Game (no idea, not giving it a chance either).

We’re WAY overdue for another golf flick…and the Spieth/McIlroy/Fowler generation DESERVES one to call their own.

We’re not necessarily looking for the quotable equivalent of Happy Gilmore. We’ll never tire of saying Oh I’m sorry, because you’re black? Or I eat pieces of shit like you for breakfast. Or My fingers hurt… That will never go away.

BUT WE NEED SOMETHING.

Inspirational? Sure. Historical? Doesn’t matter. Funny? If you can pull it off…absolutely.

Make it happen, Hollywood.

Or better yet… Make it happen, unknown talented cult classic indie producer.

Anything halfway good will do, really. Even if it’s 80% as good as the films named above, you will be immortalized in the golf community (and film/art/whatever for that matter). I promise you.
