The flawed ‘Clean Slate’ concept
Not as clean as it sounds!
I was pondering about this stupid Clean Slate concept in the movie The Dark Knight Rises yesterday. To those who are not aware of it, it is a program in which ‘you type in someone’s name and date of birth and they’re gone from every data base on earth’. Can it get any more silly? In a world where all databases ( well at least the important ones) have umpteen number of backups which are impossible to access because they’re offline and with more than half of all databases still being handwritten, what’s the fucking point in having such a software?
You might as well ask me as to why I’m thinking so much about a damn movie? Well, its because I’m a big fan of the franchise and it having such a stupid concept at the heart of a great story was disappointing.
But I was able to draw parallels with this concept to my life. I’m literally with a clean slate now. I have this incredible feeling(you might choose to call it an illusion) that nothing from my past can come back and affect me now . Though I have not asked anyone about this, my gut feeling is that I’m not the only one with the same feeling. With no real plans or constraints this semester other than my project work, I feel that there can’t be a better time than now to re-invent myself. To start afresh! Hell yeah!!, the future seems bright
