When you take a trip does your diet go on vacation, too? A handful of people use vacations as an excuse to loose track of their diet by eating rich foods they don’t normally eat. Indeed, you get to hit more restaurants while you’re on vacation rather than when you’re home. There are a few reasons why eating at a restaurant could be dangerous for your diet, such as: bigger portions, high calorie menus, or the famous three course meal (+wine duuuh). In order to keep a healthy body and mind/soul, you need to allow yourself those cheat meals!

However, it’s very doable to enjoy a vacation without ruining your entire eating routine. You need to find the perfect balance between cheat days and strict days! Here are a few tips to stay on track and take your diet on vacation:

Eat In Once A Day!

Wether you’re staying at a hotel, a friend’s house or an airbnb, you can easily go to the nearest grocery store and concoct yourself a nice homemade breakfast, lunch or diner. That way you can keep track of calories and leave enough space for the following cheat meal! Find a local market and stock up on fresh fruit, breakfast bars to have for snacking

Go For 0 Calorie Beverages!

We usually allow ourselves alcohol as being our maxi calorie drinks. If we do so, we try to power up on water with lemon, unsweetened cold tea or coffee. Forget about sodas and sugary cocktails — A good alternative for low calorie alcohol is tequila! Stock up on Margaritas!

Downsize Your Portions!

Talking about cheat meals… They are SO recommended but with moderation. If you feel like ordering a pizza, then order it but eat only half of it! Feel like having desert? Allow yourself 3 bites max!
