Nicole Cohen
Originally trained in painting and drawing, artist Nicole Cohen still needed the work to move. From her early start with projected animations to her cutting-edge video compositions, Cohen’s deft use of contemporary technology transforms flat, historical spaces into dynamic explorations of past and present, narrative and mystery, surprise and delight.
Interiors, Nicole Cohen’s first fully 3D animated video created exclusively for Depict Frame, brings her archives to life, combining video, vintage design magazines, autobiographical inspiration, and a sense of play. Her work confronts our expectations about how we behave in our spaces and who that makes us, addressing themes of psychology and identity.
