This is Arts Award’s 10th year, and during the next 10 months, the number of awards achieved by young people will reach a quarter of a million. Arts Award is accredited at Entry Level 3 and Levels 1, 2 and 3 on the Qualifications and Credit framework. The Gold Award carries 35 points on the UCAS tariff.

Across the MozFest weekend, we will be introducing young people of all ages to the Discover certificate and Bronze Award by encouraging them to explore the activities available in the Youth Zone and the wider festival, then return to us and share their experiences and skills. The activities will demonstrate how Arts Award can be achieved through digital arts. Young people will take part in creative activities and develop their leadership skills. Meanwhile, activists and reporters from Arts Award Voice will be blogging, interviewing and creating discussion around digital technology and creativity. Come and join us!

One of our main aims is to help the organisers of the Youth Zone encourage young people to explore the whole festival and to venture outside of the Youth Zone. We are going to do this by promoting a number of relevant learning ‘pathways’, supporting them to go see and take part in the youth friendly sessions and activities at the festival. We’ll be advertising these each day.

If young people complete their Discover Club pack and parents wish to order a certificate, we will take their details so that our host: EPIK, a digital arts organisation and Arts Award centre, can deal with orders. Young People aged 11 upwards trying out the Bronze Award will be signposted to how they can follow up and complete their Award after MozFest.

All young people will receive an Arts Award sticker for taking part which will fit into specially made badges on their lanyards.

Our Arts Award team in the Youth Zone will be:

· Chatting to young people about Arts Award, Arts Award Voice and digital arts

· Supporting young people to take part in Discover or Bronze Arts Awards

· Accompanying them out into the festival if they need some encouragement to go and try some of the wider

· Talking to any interested parents about how to order a Discover certificate or how YP can continue their Bronze Award at home and find a local centre

· Helping YP to use Arts Award Voice to share any reviews or skills online and in person
