The wondrous, enormous and exciting MozFest 2016 is in the books! A frenzy of making, sharing, collaborating and doing, the 2016 renewal of MozFest has to be one of the most successful yet.

When the network comes together, the motivation of the open movement is so tangible as to become almost a physical property. This was evident in the more than 500 sessions which took place over the weekend.

The first ever Speaker Series showed in a powerful way just how important the biggest issues facing the open internet are to everyone. No longer is there a separation between the digital world and the “real” world.

Creative art installations brought home the importance of topics such as web literacy and open innovation in new ways, showcasing digital issues in physical spaces. The MozEx installation, by our partners at Tate and V&A, amplified a plurality of voices from the digital world.

As ever, the most important aspect of MozFest is the rejuvenation and growth of the network that makes the open web possible. Renewing old connections, making new ones, drawing in new oxygen to the movement. These connections are vital, because all of the positive outcomes that result from the festival are a direct result of this network. Without you all, none of it is possible. With you, the possibilities are limitless. That’s why it is so important to keep the conversations and ideas that began at MozFest going throughout the year. Keep talking with each other!

Huge thanks must go to everyone who made this possible. Thank you to the volunteers who kept everything going, who solved many problems, made sure everyone was fed, that facilitators got to where they needed to be, and did the thousands of tasks required to keep an event like MozFest from falling over.

Thank you to everyone who facilitated a session, bringing to the surface the creativity and energy that the network thrives on, seeding thousands of connections that will result in positive things happening.

Thank you to all of the festival partners, especially to Ravensbourne College, for their support, input and belief in MozFest, and for demonstrating that support in a countless number of ways.

Thank you to all the staff who worked so long and hard to make the festival what it is. The MozFest cycle never really ends, and while the festival lasts a couple of days, it is a year-round, endless circle of planning, delivery and review.

Most of all, thank you to everyone who came to the festival! Your contributions, your spirit of open-hearted co-operation, and generosity with your ideas and thoughts will lead to more amazing things happening than we can measure.

You can continue to talk about the festival, especially on Twitter using #MozFest. You can also enjoy the MozFest Flickr channel, which features hundreds of incredible photos taken over the weekend by Paul Clarke and his team.

Finally, we want to hear from you! We want to hear your stories about the MozFest experience. We will be sharing a survey soon that we would love for you to complete. Responses are anonymous, so please be honest as your feedback helps us to make the festival even better.

Thanks once again, and see you all in 2017!
