Set Phasers to FUN

This year’s Youth Zone space at MozFest has a theme. It’s a big one- you could almost say “spacious”- and pretty out of this world. Look up outside and you can’t miss it. Can you guess what it is ? The title may have spoilt it.

It’s Space — the Final Pun-tier

Over the weekend of 26/27 October we are going to be hosting a galaxy’s worth of sessions. We’ll be Building Mars Rover Spectrometers , programming robots, and sensing space with the SenseHAT -and there’s two of those on the ISS, how more spacey can you get? We’ll also be comandeering the Ravensbourne prototyping space again to visualize a computer’s mind with lasers. Pew-Pew

There’s space for more though

We’ve also got number of sessions running that aren’t quite Space related. We’ll be Showing kids (and adults!) how to make their own Alexa like AI , but also how to make AI powered apps for a good cause . VR adventure making, website breaking, even potato power (without any baking). We’ve got all sorts planned

Astronomical Value

A genuine ticket to space is expensive — Richard Branson would happily charge you at least £175,000 ($250,000) for the privilege — and requires specialist training, paperwork, and has a date of departure of “who knows when”. MozFest tickets meanwhile are more than 3800 times cheaper than that, and we’ll even throw in swag, lunch (not freeze-dried), and unlimited hot drinks for free. Also 300+ workshops and sessions over 9 Floors, Talks by leading voices from across the Internet health movement, and Network and community building. We know for definite that MozFest will be taking place on 26/27 October 2019. Will we see you at Ravensbourne for Lift-off?
