4 years ago, we became freelancers. We were finally free to work as we wanted, when we wanted and on the most interesting projects.

But quickly we felt the limits of it. We were mainly working by ourselves, with no one to give feedback or to help us. We had a lot to manage around missions to find clients, nail the right way to collaborate with them and get paid in time.

That’s why we founded Mozza, our crew of UX designers and Product Strategists. Today, as the team is growing, we want to explain what the life of a Mozza member looks like.

We never worry about finding clients

Mozza is well-known in the startup ecosystem thanks to the content we have been producing for years. This enables us to work for young projects started by successful founders like Gilles Chetelat (100M€ exit in 2016), fast-growing startups like Heetch or Aircall, and tech giants like Airbnb or Google. Adrien and Maxime, our cofounders, are in charge of making sure new projects are interesting, and share them amongst crew members.

We always collaborate on missions

“You’ll never work alone” could be our crew anthem. Two Mozza chefs usually team up for each project: one Product Strategist and one UX/UI designer. We noticed it changes everything to have someone to share laughs and insights with. This also makes it easy to learn new skills: Designers are helping strategists learn design patterns, and the other way around.

For each mission, we follow a precise methodology we have been refining for the past 4 years. With it, we can focus on bringing the most value and creativity, without losing time on deciding the best way to do it. Our sprints mainly include user research, product strategy and UX/UI design, the things we love the most.

We usually work indoors.

We get paid more than a full-time job

Mozza’s financial director takes care of processing the payments from clients and allocating them to the chefs. On average, a Mozza member gets paid more than 5500€ a month, without committing full-time. Members stay freelancers, work remotely, and can have clients outside Mozza.

We inspire each other to try new things

On average, we work on Mozza gigs 2 to 3 days per week. The remaining time is for learning new things and pursuing other kind of projects. Adrien organizes an arts festival, Maxime makes videos for his Youtube channel, Flo creates an ecological clothing brand, Mathieu learns to cook and Lucas is on the path of profesionnal kitesurfing.

One last thing: we do all love mozzarellas. The entire crew will be flying to Campania soon to find and savor the best ones together. ❤️

Want to join us?

We are looking for new UX/UI designers and Product Managers to join the crew. If you are working in a startup and considering freelancing soon, feel free to fill this form.
