After 15 seasons, the show that many have held dear has finally come to an end Thursday night. The show ended off with a 2 hour special send off in which the final American Idol winner was crowned. The winner from Mississippi was La’ Porsha Renae. The fall of the show in which changed the lives of many people through sheer singing talent has fallen due to a continued lowering of ratings each year the show was on. The cause of this is from many other companies having similar ideas for a “singing” talent show. Examples would be The Voice or X Factor in which one of American Idol’s original judges “Simon Cowell” moved to due to the fall of American Idol ratings. American Idol has left us with some of the best talent in the music industry such as Kelly Clarkson, and some of the more memorable singers as the likes of William Hung and the always fun “She Bangs” performance. Either way, this show was the proving ground for many other shows and many singers to get their named noticed and has truly solidified its identity in the American television industry.
