Black Lives Matters Demonstrators Block Bay Bridge; Dozens Arrested

Yesterday, January 18, Most of the Lanes on the Bay bridge were shut down by members of groups called Black Seed and the Black Queer Liberation, who took responsibility for the protest. One member of the groups said, “We are here to move towards an increase in the health and well being of all Black people in Oakland and San Francisco.”

About 25 people that was protesting on the bridge were arrested and some people were hand cuffed and some were seated on the road to be taken away. All of the 25 protesters were sent to the San Francisco County Jail and was charged with misdemeanor counts of false imprisonment. The CHP was alert that there was a protest going on, but they weren’t able to stop the protesters.
