A time when I went through a transformative experience was when I discovered my love for baking and cooking. I had read a graphic novel about a girl that really loved cooking and how she was determined to go to culinary school to perfect her art. Reading about how dedicated this girl was to her passion inspired me to try out baking for the first time. It turned out that I really liked the creative process of baking/cooking.

Prior to this experience, I felt like I wasn’t a particularly creative person because I was not good at typical mediums of artistic expression such as paint or drawing. I did not think I was a very creative type of person, but after discovering my passion for the culinary arts, I realized that I did have creative — just in a different way.

Because of this experience, I feel that I have grown a lot as a person in all aspects. The culinary arts has taught me a lot more beyond how to make food, but also life skills such as budgeting, eating healthy, etc. It has brought me practical and social value as well as serving as a creative outlet for me. Finding a great hobby and a passion has greatly enriched my life experience.
