People swarmed San Francisco on Valentine’s Day for an annual pillow fight. — Sondra Tarmoedji

February 14, 2016 — The 14th of February, most well known as Valentine’s Day in the US was more than just a day for couples to show their affection for each other. In San Francisco, CA, hundreds gathered at Justin Herman Plaza in the embarcadero to have an annual massive pillow fight. The pillow fight began at 6PM on Sunday night. San Franciscans used feather-stuffed pillows to run at full speed at one another to lovingly beat the crap out of each other until the whistle blew. After the pillow fight, the plaza ground was littered with feathers from the ripped pillows, but attendees cleaned it all up after the event. Surprisingly, the event is actually organized through Facebook and social media, so it is not sponsored by any official organization, but it somehow returns every year! If you can, attend next year!

There are just a couple of rules:

1) Tell EVERYONE YOU KNOW about Pillow Fight!!!

2) There should be nothing inside your pillow

3) Don’t hit anyone without a pillow

4) Don’t hit anyone operating a camera

Did any of you guys hear about this pillow fight? I learned of this event through Snapchat, but by the time I viewed the snaps it was already over! So what do you guys think about this event? Would you go or would you rather spend the night with your significant other? I hope all of you who attended this annual event had fun! If you missed it this year, there’s always next year!
