Dear me,

As a freshmen you are scared, I know of course. You are timid and alone in this new school, you see new faces everywhere and you are too afraid to look up in the hallways. As a girl with insecurities you are scared to speak because you are afraid you will make a fool of yourself. It is okay to make mistakes, when you trip or fall it’s best to laugh at yourself instead of shaming yourself. You will experience new emotions such as heart breaks and a lot of stress, but I know that you have the potential to overcome any obstacle thrown at you. In that small shell you hide in, there is a girl who is strong, intelligent, unique and creative. Do not let others get in the way of your success. You will lose and make new friends a long the way, you will get hurt and you will experience immense happiness. Growing up will be really fast, but you’ll learn a lot and make sure you don’t make the same mistakes twice. Education is key to success, study hard, get good grades and don’t give up when you feel overwhelmed. Keep pushing. When someone makes you feel bad about yourself, remember that they are the ones losing because you will keep going and gaining more success. Always keep in mind to never let a boy get in the way of your education, because YOU and your future are priority. Overall, appreciate mama and papa for what they have sacrificed for you, and everyone who has been there since day 1.
