My Education

My formal education has been fairly good. I was a student that tried to get straight A’s and still am. Nothing special really drove me to want to do this, it was just a personal goal and preference because I know that having below average grades would not get me far in my career. My schools values were mainly success and to always be positive. These values fit me, but only up to a certain extent. The reason being is because, sometimes success comes after failure. The most informal learning experience was through the JROTC program. This program taught me the fundamentals of balancing my education and extra-curricular activities. They have taught me to become an open minded leader. Without this program, I most likely wouldn’t be doing well in my classes and outside of school. This school has encouraged its students to ask questions, even if it seems “stupid”. My second family in the school and the JROTC instructors have greatly impacted the way I learn and take in things. I’ve learned how to manage and strive in a team, and how to network with people from different backgrounds and areas. I expect my college education to be just as good, if not, better. I want to be able to understand my classes. I want to be able to get good grades, while knowing the work, rather than passing the class without having learned anything.
