1. Product Review Videos

The purpose is to give out the uploader’s opinion on a product- their opinion can determine whether the audience wants to purchase it or not. They’re like the guinea pigs for new or trending products. The target audience is the people who are interested in purchasing the product(s). For example Emily Eddington is a beauty influencer on Youtube. She reviews beauty products. She states out the claims of the product and then demonstrates it for the audience to judge for themselves. In the end she explains who the product would work best on or give out different suggestions. She keeps viewers engaged by being honest and relatable. This can be replicated by first having a product that many will be interested in and then they just have to be honest and relatable.

2. Favorites/Best of Videos

The purpose of these videos is for the uploader to tell the audience their favorite products and tell why it is their favorite. The result of this may lead to the audience wanting to purchase these items or look into them. The target audience is the people who can relate the uploader or they trust their opinion. These types of videos can satisfy the audience’s needs by pretty much telling them that a product is good enough for them to buy. It’s really interesting to see a big influencer’s favorite products. For example, Jaclyn Hill is a big influencer in the beauty community and she’s tried many products so when she favors one, everyone gets on it. She keeps viewers engaged by being quirky and honest. This can be replicated on Puma News by having different types of people show their favorite items. Like you can get an athlete, an artist, a musician, etc. and they can tell their favorite items and it’ll hopefully interest a wide range of people.

3. Haul Videos

The purpose of these videos is for the uploader to show the audience what they purchased or what is new in stores. The target audience is once again, people who are interested in new products or they like the uploader. These types of videos are satisfying because it is a way for you to see what is new out there without having to leave home. If there is something that you are interested in purchasing from the video, you can then go and buy it. For example, Kathleen is also a beauty influencer. Some of the videos she makes are are hauls. She keeps viewers engaged by being relatable; in these videos she sometimes demos the products which can be very helpful. This can be replicated on Puma News by once again, having different people show the things they purchased.

4. How-To Videos

The purpose of these videos is to show the audience how to do something, they tend to be step by step. The target audience is people who want to know how to do something. This satisfies the audience because they can be very helpful and sometimes it can come out exactly like how you imagined. For example Roxette Arisa teaches us things like how to do makeup in 10 minutes to a dramatic smokey eye. She keeps us engaged by being relatable and quirky. This type of video can be replicated on Puma News by having a someone teach others some things like studying tips or how to not procrastinate- be relatable.

5. Q&A Videos

The purpose of these videos is to get to learn more about the uploader. The target audience is the people who follow or have interest in the influencer. The questions tend to be from their followers. This satisfies the audience because they will feel closer to the influencer and their question might be answered. For example, Tana Mongeau does a lot of storytimes and question & answer videos. She keeps her audience engaged by being very funny and having wild stories about her life. This type of video can be replicated on Puma News by having different students answer questions from their peers.
