What are some ways that the free press and media protects the freedom and rights of the public? How are they covering the current administration? What is one example of ethical news coverage and what is an example of unethical news coverage?

Well…in theory, they’re supposed to be unbiased as well as covering a wide variety of topics. You know, tell the truth. Yeah. They should. But there’s one thing you have to remember. The people who research, who report…they’re people too. They have opinions, they have feelings, and essentially they can be bought or blackmailed or hurt. As long as they are human, it is essentially impossible to expect a reporter to be completely unbiased. The same goes for the “truth”. What is the truth? People seem to believe that it is a undeniable fact. Something that can never be wrong. But I think it’s wrong to see it that way. “Truth” is just a concept used to describe what people believe in. In other words, the truth can be anything as long as one believes whole-heartedly in it. My truth might not be your truth, but it is mine.

Still, to be so blatantly obvious and biased is a complete failure. When you lie it has to be believable else you might as well just say the truth since people can figure it out on their own. Or not. People are stubborn, narrow-minded, and they might believe everything that Trump and his people say. Everything he says is so easily proved wrong that people can’t help but make stupid videos mocking him. But to some people it is their truth and I can’t/won’t bother changing their opinion.

I suppose an ethical news coverage would be telling a story as clearly and as unbiased as possible and an unethical news coverage would be purposely deceiving others to benefit themselves.
