If you are feeling the need to introduce some drastic mental and physical changes to your life, look no further than the original Beachbody Insanity workout program. High-intensity interval training on steroids for a total body workout. It’s been around since 2009 and still going strong.

Why? It just plain works.

However, finding the resolve to change is never easy. As I embark on my eighth round of Insanity I’m sharing some thoughts and wisdom that have helped me get through some of my roughest days.

By all accounts, none of these lessons are hidden secrets. They are time-tested, fundamental, core tenets you will learn for yourself as you wind your way through the program.

There is no order of importance. Knowing them ahead of time won’t make getting in shape easier, but you will find they can enhance your mental state while guiding you through the experience. At times they’ll even make you laugh. Eventually, you’ll appreciate their value.

Ultimately this list offers moments of encouragement for those days when you struggle to find a reason to make it happen.
