A Mason’s Tale
Mason --- is my Name
Dealing with Stone,Brick and Cement is My Game
I toil and toil to earn My Bread
About My Good Fortune nothing can be said.
I work in the Scorching Sun and Raging Rain
Two Hundred Rupees in a day to Obtain.
My Clothes are Soiled with The Clouds of Cement and Dust
But to Earn for Family My Work is Must.
The Seasons change but not My Job.
Working in The Hot Loo (Summer Heat) and Snow and Fog
Never a Labourer's Hands Soft will You Feel
As they Work Hard from The Morning and Evening Drill.
My Clothes are almost None,Just Two to Three Shirts
And Seeing My Wife and Children in Tattered Clothes really Hurts
I can't do much as My Wages are Bare
But I also want to live a Family Man's life and Them to Care.
My Children Stare at the Open Sky
To Wait For a Piece of Bread their Father Bought,Dry
The Same Work Will be passed on to them as Years will go By
My Son is asking for A Teddy and Not a Doll to play is My Daughter's Cry.
