One of the best ways to create engagement with readers on Medium is to use call-to-action, preferably at the end of the article.
For those of you who don’t know what call-to-action means, it means that at the end of the article or during the article, you use a question or prompt that is related to the topic of the article so that people are tempted to interact.

One of the best call to action is to use a question at the end of the article. I have been using this for some time and I will tell you that in my opinion it is the best tool for an article writer to create engagement.
Most of the time people will be tempted to respond to the question, and in this way it will create a very strong connection between the reader and the writer.

In addition, by using this call-to-action you will easily start to understand how your readers think and to which articles they are most receptive, which is extremely important when you want to succeed on Medium.

Just as the first paragraph of an article is very important and you have to be very careful not to bore the reader from the beginning and make them decide to leave the article, so it is also important how you formulate that final question.
