Breaking Free from Negative Thought Cycles
Sometimes a small thing can disturb us, leading to a negative thought loop. Someone might say something that rubs us the wrong way, or a minor injury might prevent us from working out. Something at work might go wrong.
Do you know that feeling? Before long, we’re questioning everything about our lives, careers, health, or relationships.
We often try to resist the situation. We attempt to fix it, feeling compelled to address the disturbance. But here’s the thing: we don’t control the disturbance.
That only leads to more frustration. Negative thoughts start to take over, and something that began as a small annoyance becomes a major life problem.
We might feel like quitting our jobs or relationships as if everything is working against us and nothing is worth it.
That’s a negative thought loop. It’s something many people experience. But why does it happen?
It’s all about control. We think life should unfold a certain way. In other words, we want everything to happen the way we want, and when it doesn’t, we react. Negative thought loops often begin when something comes to an end. Have you noticed that?
