Title: Catch the Killer
Release Year: 2023
Running time: 119 minutes
Actors: Shailene Woodley, Ben Medelsohn, Jovan Adebo
Director: Damián Szifron

Creating an exciting thriller is an art in itself. It takes a solid mix of a good script, top-notch acting, and the right director’s eye in post-production to keep the audience on the edge of their seats.

Catch the Killer is a representative of the genre that starts with a good build-up, but unfortunately falls off significantly towards the end. I’ll explain how this came to be in this review.

The plot

On New Year’s Eve, 29 people were shot at random in Baltimore. The victims have no connection to each other. The typical patterns of mentally ill serial killers are missing. There are no demands and apparently no motive.
