The Truth Behind Coffee: Elixir of Life or Popular Myth?
One of the most appreciated and consumed beverages by people is coffee. I personally don’t know anyone who doesn’t start their day with a cup of coffee, but the question I will try to answer in this article is whether or not it prolongs your life according to current studies.
To understand from the beginning I am referring to drinking coffee without sugar, milk or other different flavors since there things change completely.
First of all you should know that coffee contains antioxidants as well as vitamins and minerals that are extremely beneficial for your health.
According to current studies people who consume 1–3 cups of coffee a day have a much lower risk for type 2 diabetes which is extremely popular these days and which significantly reduces a person’s lifespan. Also people who consume coffee are prone to lower risks in terms of mortality.
In addition another extremely important thing is that drinking coffee increases the secretion of dopamine and serotonin, which makes people’s general mood better. This helps to reduce stress, an increasingly important cause of mortality today.
