Disappointed by the initial episodes of Queen of Tears, I found myself contemplating how I would have written the drama differently. Rather than a mere gender-swapped reboot of the typical male chaebol archetype, I envisioned a storyline that delved deeper into the complexities of a female chaebol's journey.

Dancing around this idea, I crafted a narrative that would have captivated audiences, particularly in the first two episodes. Instead of relying on clichés, I aimed to explore nuanced themes and character development, offering viewers a fresh and compelling take on the genre.

Episode 1

Tears of Beginnings

At the outset of their baby’s loss, tears likely consumed her and her husband, casting doubt on their future together. She may have felt the crushing weight of infertility, questioning if motherhood would ever grace her life again. The circumstances surrounding their loss, whether from physical weakness or her body’s inability to sustain pregnancy, only deepened their anguish. As they struggled to cope, the media’s relentless coverage denied them the space to grieve and heal. Their differing societal statuses exacerbated tensions, with blame unfairly directed at her husband for not conforming to traditional masculinity. This strain fractured their relationship, with unsupportive family members exacerbating the divide.

As they drifted apart, a new challenge emerged: her diagnosis of late-stage ovarian cancer, likely linked to the trauma of miscarriage. Facing mortality brought them back together, reigniting their bond in the face of adversity. Yet, amidst this renewed connection, he contemplated divorce, while she grappled with her own desire for independence despite her trials. Balancing her career and personal battles, she fought to reclaim control over her life.

Episode 2

Reconnecting Hearts

As she grapples with the tumultuous process of divorce, struggling with feelings of deceit, anger, and a sense of detachment from life itself. Amidst the chaos, she immerses herself in her career aspirations, striving to reach her ambitious goal of one billion won achievements, with her husband steadfastly by her side as a supportive ally.

As the couple faces challenges that threaten to tear them apart, including the disapproval of her father and the animosity of her mother towards her, Episode 2 focuses on her attempt to reconnect with her estranged mother. Delving into the complexities of their relationship, she seeks to understand her mother's perspective, grappling with the profound loss of a child and how it shaped her mother's worldview.

The end!!
