A narcissist’s behaviour might lead you to believe that one day they will get bored and discard you for the final time and move on.
Whether you feel this way from a deep longing for the nightmare to finally be over, or you feel like you’ve had enough, you should never assume that a narcissist is gone for good when they ghost you.
Due to the disordered way narcissists experience people as internal objects, or an extension of themselves, nothing is ever permanent with them.
When they ghost, they are normally just beginning another abuse cycle and will go on to hoover their target again weeks or months later.
There is a lack of balance in a relationship with a narcissist, as you may have relinquished your power early on, allowing the narcissist to take the lead and be the dominant one in the relationship while you took on the role of the loving caregiver.
The problem with this is that once a narcissist starts their abuse cycle, they are like a crocodile doing a death roll; they don’t stop.
