Only one day separates us from Black Friday, the day that many people wait a whole year to shop, and the day when most of the time people end up buying just because they see huge discounts.
But is Black Friday a big lie or not?
I have waited every year to buy a few things whether it was a phone or another appliance, which is why a few months before I would put on a waiting list and keep track of the price almost weekly.
Almost every time I noticed the same thing, that is that before about 4–5 weeks the price of the product would go up, and then on Black Friday the price would drop by the same amount that it had gone up. So for the store the discount was equal to zero, but for a shopper who hasn’t been paying attention to the price of the product all year long, he will consider that he got a very good discount.
In addition I noticed each time that when there was a really big discount, the number of products was extremely low and for the most part there were very small chances to be able to buy it. Probably the people working in those stores knew which products were going to be discounted, so they already had them on their wish list.
