Is this what’s stopping you?

Ninety percent of people in our world today pursue success mostly for the wrong reasons. It’s disheartening. When you pursue fame just for its own sake, I’m not sure if you’ll actualize peace of mind. It won’t be worth it without that peace of mind. All is well that ends well, remember? Without a real sense of purpose, nothing meaningful can ever be achieved.

All intelligent accomplishments were dreams and thoughts backed up with the right purpose.

Ask yourself this: Why do I want success? (Go on now, ask yourself.) In case you don’t know, it is much more easier to become a failure. Very easy, I can assure you.

But then, you want to be a success? You want to go through all those late nights just to come up with a nice business plan?

Why?

Your answer to these questions is what is known as purpose. Show me a man who drifts through this life without purpose, and I’ll show you a man who is headed towards failure. We cannot sweep under the carpet why Solomon in the Bible, had to spend seven years just to build the Lords temple. Those years just for a temple! The thing is that, it wasn’t just a temple; it was a magnificent temple. Generations to come will speak of that achievement. Why? Because David’s son, Solomon, knew what he wanted to achieve. He had purpose.

You’ve a false sense of purpose, when you’re not prepared to sow the seeds of time. A purposeful person is willing and eager to sow the seeds of time. Time is an invitation; and like every invitation, it demands to be honored. Ignore this to your peril. If you look around you, you’ll observe that all uncommon achievers used the gift called time well. Why? Because they had a purpose to accomplish. He who lacks a sense of purpose does not have calmness of mind. I once read somewhere that the seeds of greatness grow best in the soil of peace.

Purpose is one of the things that can give you peace of mind. A peaceful mind will allow you to think properly. If you are always clinging towards peoples approval, chances are that you lack a sense of purpose. Quit needing people’s approval. It’s okay if they don’t give it. You weren’t created for them. You were created for yourself. This doesn’t brush out the idea that we ought to serve our fellow man. This also doesn’t brush out the fact that no one is an island. But life is too short to spend it looking for people’s approval, which is not forthcoming. You have better things to do with your life; and the first step to recognizing this is by having the right sense of purpose. Yes. I say this because most people have the wrong sense of purpose, and you better not be one of them.
