Registered to run a mile
I’ve signed up for the 2K Tata Family Fun Run. As someone who didn’t even walk 5000 steps a day in August 2024, this is beyond rash.
I know it’s just over a mile! 2 km is 1.24 miles.
Even so, it’s a run; not a walk. Also, my fitness trainer said that there’s something about communal runs that makes us run faster than we would if we were unobserved.
The 5 km, 7 km, 10 km and 21 km categories win cash awards.
Top finishers in the Tata Steel Jamshedpur Run-a-thon 2024 get:
Half Marathon
1st Place: ₹50,000, around $600
2nd Place: ₹30,000, around $360
3rd Place: ₹20,000, around $240
10K
1st Place: ₹25,000, around $300
2nd Place: ₹15,000, around $180
3rd Place: ₹10,000, around $120
5K
1st Place: ₹10,000, around $120
2nd Place: ₹5,000, around $60
3rd Place: ₹3,000, around $36
The category I’m participating in, the 2K fun run; has no cash awards, but all finishers get a medal.
