I started my journey on Medium, when I came to know about Medium Partner Program expansion to 77 countries including Pakistan. I was fueled by passion, ready to share my thoughts with wider audience. After publishing more than 15 articles and earning less than $6. I am writing on Hive and I’m aware that how to build an audience. I knew I needed a plan to grow.

Without much ado let’s discuss my strategies that have helped me make steady progress on the platform :

Consistent Engagement :

One of the most significant shifts I made was actively engaging with Medium’s vibrant community. In last 10 days of August I observed Medium algorithm. Although I am an introvert yet I decided to communicate with others and build audience. I committed to reading 20-30 articles daily. Whenever I read any article I make sure reading it complete, but at least one minute. I made it a habit to leave encouraging feedback on the articles I resonated with. This engagement has been instrumental in building connections with other writers. Nowadays I’m reading 50–60 article daily.

Focus on Crafting Valuable Content :

In the beginning of my journey, I was like a fish out of water. I was looking here and there to know how I can write better. While reading from Ajayi Olalekan I learned that writer should create content according to audience interest. Since that day I became more focused on sharing actionable insights, practical tips, and personal experiences that could resonate with readers. Each piece I wrote, I aimed to educate, entertain, or inspire, ensuring that readers left with something valuable.

Publishing Regularly :

I set a routine for myself to publish articles regularly. Even when my articles weren’t earning much I didn’t skip publishing. Publishing consistently kept me visible on the platform. I would suggest you to be consistent in publishing and avoid over posting.

Learning from Analytics :

It is advised by senior writer mostly to avoid checking your stats, it could demotivate you. But Medium’s analytics feature became a valuable tool for me to understand my readers better. I began tracking which articles performed well, which tags drove the most traffic. By analyzing this data, I adjusted my strategies accordingly.

Joining Publications :

Initially, I published articles on my own profile, but I soon realized the power of Medium publications. I started submitting to popular publications that aligned with my content. I also made my own publication but I need some more time to complete settings and invite fellow writers.

Patience and Persistence :

Perhaps the most critical strategy has been patience. Progress on Medium doesn’t happen overnight, and it’s easy to get discouraged when you’re not seeing immediate results. But I’ve learned that persistence pays off. I didn’t earn much in my start days but I didn’t quit writing and engaging here. I didn’t compare my stats with others, don’t let myself be demotivated.

Conclusion:

Though my journey on Medium is still evolving, these strategies have helped me make progress with in short time . The combination of consistent engagement, valuable content, and, most importantly, persistence has been key to building my presence on the platform. I’m excited to see where this journey takes me next!

By implementing these strategies, I’ve been able to grow steadily on Medium, and I hope they can inspire and help other writers on the platform. Progress may be slow, but with the right approach, every step forward counts.

In the end of today’s blog I request you to pray for me as I’m bit unwell. I’m looking forward to recharge my energy and come back to Medium soon.
