Drama infiltrates every community, and the kink scene is no exception. However, there’s no denying that drama is toxic. If you engage in too much drama its negativity will consume you. The healthiest approach to dealing with drama is straightforward: avoid the bullshit, stay in your own lane, and focus on what truly matters.

Tragically, most folks’ understanding of social interactions has devolved to dog pilling outrage fests, virtue signalling, and social media beefs that spillover into scene events. That kind of bullshit simply doesn’t matter.

Do you know what really matters? Your mission matters. Genuine social interactions and showing respect matter. Your relationships matter, as do boundaries and personal growth.

When you stay in your own lane, you can invest your energy in positive and productive interactions rather than getting entangled in harmful and unnecessary bullshit. It gives you more time and energy to pursue your mission.

It’s about putting effort into building and maintaining healthy connections within the community. It’s also about fostering an environment where consent, communication, and respect are at the forefront. By doing so, you not only enhance your own experiences but you also contribute to a culture that values integrity and mutual respect.

So next time you get the urge to dive into the drama cesspit, or spread scene gossip, don’t do it. Instead, just focus on the mantra: “Not my circus, not my monkeys.” It’s a reminder to prioritize what truly matters. That simple step helps turn the drama volume down. The lower that we keep the drama volume, the more that our kinky communities can flourish.

Happy power exchanging!

I stumbled upon the kink community back in the 90s, and boy, it's been quite the wild ride!
