A narcissist has what I call black-and-white thinking, that is something is either all good or all bad. If someone screws up and makes one mistake, to a narcissist that now means that they are all bad.
The false self delusion persona can only ever be one hundred per cent good because of this black-and-white thinking, but because of all the bad things that the narcissist has done and will do, they need a yin to their yang.
They need someone else to be all bad so that they can forever be all good.
Without someone to deflect all their wrongdoing onto, they would have to absorb their evil deeds themselves which would result in the destruction of the false self and narcissistic collapse, and so they will always need a partner to project their harmful deeds onto.
