TWO WEEKS & a Dozen of Eggs? part 2
Izayah began unpacking the groceries, a mundane task that was momentarily interrupted when he decided to call Gale. "Thanks, babe," he said warmly.
"Thanks for what?" she replied, feigning innocence.
"The groceries," he said, playing along with her charade. He knew she was lying but indulged her game. He set aside a dozen eggs, already figuring out her surprise.
“who’s buying your groceries?” She asked.
“C’mon woman who else going to feed me?”
Gale finally admitted, "I just knew that with everything you’re going through, food shouldn’t be a worry as long as we’re together. So you should have 19 items?" she asked, testing him.
"18 items," he corrected, then added, "i just wish I had aa dozen of eggs."
“You do, I sent two dozens.” She said.
“I only have one here babe.” He looks around for the extra dozen. “It might’ve feel out in her car.”
Izayah considered calling the delivery girl to check her car, but Gale smoothly shifted the conversation. "I’ll buy you another because I know how much you love eggs and I love you, but it really hurts when you get upset at me for asking for only two weeks with you. You’re always there for everyone else, it seems."
