What we fear
What’s something you’re most scared of? I’m scared of the fact that we are human.
What do we fear the most in life? Death? Darkness? The unknown strife? These fears we carry, etched in bone, But the greatest fear may be our own.
For we are human, frail and brief, A flicker of light, a passing leaf. We yearn, we strive, we chase a dream, But all too soon, it all will seem
A fleeting breath, a whispered word, Lost to the void, unheard, unstirred. This is the fear that cuts so deep, The knowledge that we cannot keep
This fragile life, this precious time. We are but dust, beneath the chime Of the indifferent, endless spheres. And yet, within us, hope appears.
For though we die, though all is lost, The love we share transcends the cost. In kindness done, in laughter shared, Our fleeting presence is declared.
So let us live, and love, and hold The beauty close, despite the cold. And face the fears that grip us tight, For even darkness yields to light.
