Why It’s Important to Be Active on Medium
After a pretty busy year both at work and on Medium I decided it was time for a vacation, so I was away for 4 days, during which time I had no internet access so I couldn’t be active on Medium.
Even if I can say that it was quite hard for me because Medium is a habit for me, I thought it was a pretty good test to understand what happens when you are not active.
To understand this let’s take a look at the graphs of views and reads, and what we notice is that from the first day we see a decrease in the number of views and reads.
Even from the first day we can see a reduction in their number by almost 50% and the graph has continued to decrease with each day.
Of course if I look over the revenue these have dropped from over 5$/day to about 0.8$ yesterday.
What we can understand from these things is that when you want to get a decent income on Medium you don’t only need a high quality of articles but also quantity.
When you write a new article and promote it or create engagement with other members on Medium, they also search for previous articles, so the number of views increases…
