Why Storytelling is More Successful on Medium
Why try storytelling for your articles
In the almost 4 years I spent on Medium I tried to write all kinds of articles to understand what works and what my readers value most. Thus I tried to write from both educational and storytelling articles and what I noticed was that each time the latter were more successful.
So I asked myself why storytelling articles are more successful?
The answer came as soon as I realized how much artificial intelligence has become a part of us. Even me when I have a problem I don’t know the answer to, I don’t look for the answer on the internet or think what the answer could be, but I go on ChatGPT and most of the time I find the right answer.
The problem, however, is related to the way in which this artificial intelligence provides the answer, namely the fact that it is extremely informal and distant.
We humans are very much in need of human interaction, so when I read an article by someone I like to connect with them and understand how they think or how they relate to a certain problem.
I also like to hear stories of people who have succeeded in a certain field or have found the answer to a question that I often ask myself.
