THINK POSITIVE ✌
“As long as you feel pain, you’re still alive. As long as you make mistakes, you’re still human. And as long as you keep trying, there’ still hope.”
I have always believed, and I still believe, that whatever good or bad fortune may come our way we can always give it meaning and transform it into something of value. It is true that optimists, or positive thinkers, are at an advantage in life compared to pessimists. This is because of the effect your mindset and attitude have on everything we come across. Our social relationships, our job and also our health are an integral part of our daily life and we can feel how negative and positive thoughts can have a domino effect on everything we do during the day.
The way we choose to think, positive or negative, has a great impact on the final outcome and is mirrored in everything we do. Hence the importance of having a balanced outlook on life.
A very simple way to spread more happiness in your own little world is through kindness. It’s often an easy and quick thing you can do as you move through your daily life.
But we sometimes forget about it. Or don’t remember how it can help us all.
Three things that I like to keep in mind and that help me to try to be a kinder person are these :-
- I get what I give. Yep, some people will be ungrateful, miserable and not reciprocating no matter what you may do. But most people will over time treat you as you treat them.
By being kinder to others I am more likely to be kinder to myself.
- It may sound a bit odd but my experience is that when I am kinder towards others then my self-esteem goes up
.It creates a happier place to live in.
Being kinder simply makes my own little world a nicer and happier place to live in.
Helping someone out is one of simplest but also one of the most powerful things one can do to live a happy life.
Comparing what you have and your results to what other people have and have accomplished can really kill your motivation and keep your self-esteem at a low level. There are always people ahead of you.
So focus on you. On what you have accomplished. And on how you can and have improved your results. This is important because it’s a great motivator to see how much you have improved and how far you have come.
I sometimes hear that you should always be positive or always be winning or working towards your goal. That may sound inspirational in theory. But reality is not ideal or perfect and neither are you and I.
Life gets in the way sometimes. You may get in your own way. And sometimes you simply don’t have the energy or the courage or the time to do something. And that’s OK.
Instead of trying to live up to some perfect image that other people and/or you may press upon you, choose to set human standards for yourself. Choose to give yourself a break when things don’t go as you may have wished and choose to cut yourself some slack.
“You must find the place inside yourself where nothing is impossible.”
