We were at the Busan Webtoon Festival exhibition when we first met Korean author Lee Ki Ho from Comic Family. There, we exchanged name cards and briefly explained our vision.

Kindly, he asked us, “Why not come to our office in Myeong-dong, Seoul?”

Our team excitedly responds, “Definitely, yes. Thanks, sir!”

It was a quick introduction, but also the beginning of a lovely experience for our team during our trip to Korea.

About Comic Family

Established in 2014, Comic Family started as a direct agency for Pikitoon platform. Over the past six years, they distributed webtoons through various channels like advertisements and TV dramas that continue today.

On top of that, Comic Family also operates its very own webtoon academy where top authors directly mentor aspiring webtoon artists.

Today, Comic Family holds a strong position in the webtoon industry thanks to its line of talented, passionate artists and team.

Meeting at the Comic Family Office \(^ヮ^)/

We strolled around Myeong-dong area (downtown Seoul, Korea) on our way to Comic Family’s office. Anxious yet excited, we couldn’t wait.

Called Zaemiro (재미로), or Seoul Comic Road, their office lies inside a lovely area dedicated to webtoon culture.

Captivated by the cute drawings and creative corners, we couldn’t stop ourselves from taking photos.

The meeting was friendly and informal — almost as if they were welcoming us into their home.

We shared many honest and inspiring stories and talked a lot about our company’s vision and our teams’ goals for our trip to Korea.

And of course, we couldn’t express enough how grateful we were to our hosts Mr. Kim Dong Woo, Lee Ki Hoo, and the two producers Hannah Lee and Min Su for their hospitality.

Afterward, we spent time taking group photos and exploring their cool coffee shop style office. We were there fully emerged into the South Korean webtoon culture.

After our chat, we headed to Namsan Mountain for a traditional multi-course Korean meal. Lee Ki Ho was kind enough to sign and give us three vintage copies of his famous work Melancholy. (ノ´ヮ`)ノ*: ・゚

Although the meeting was brief, we had a fantastic experience.

Our impressions of Comic Family is that they‘re not like any other comics company, but a close-knit family full of passion for webtoon.

This experience reminded us of Mind C, the author of Will You Marry Me. We had a chance to meet him at Busan Webtoon Festival during our trip. He mentioned that Comic Family is where he dedicates his time to creating webtoons and that Lee Ki Ho is like a big brother to him. And the warm welcome of this trip proves that.

We said goodbye with a grateful heart and couldn’t thank them enough for the unforgettable experience. We hope to meet them again soon. ♡
