Everyone knows that International Women’s Day falls on the 8th of March, but what if we got to celebrate it all year round? Be it any month of the year, women deserve to celebrate themselves, and what finer way than to connect with thousands of others who feel the same way, better yet - get to advance our careers while we are at it.
So, here I am in the month for women, sharing some of the best tech opportunities focusing on women, you dare not miss!

Conferences

Grace Hopper Celebration: Conferences & Scholarships
Every time I even hear about GHC, my stomach starts fluttering. It was love at first sight besties!
Created in 1994 and inspired by the legacy of Admiral Grace Murray Hopper, the AnitaB.org flagship event Grace Hopper Celebration brings the research and career interests of women in computing to the forefront. As one of the leading tech conferences, GHC fosters an efficacious environment that brings out the latent forte embedded within its participants. Welcoming people of different backgrounds and identities where their ideas are valued and utilized breeds a new aura of light and energy in them which makes GHC as unique as it gets.

Harvard WECode
As someone who just attended Harvard WECode, I cannot recommend it enough. I could not get enough of the talks, workshops, and most important- connecting with women from all over the world who are as passionate about tech as me. The Harvard WECode (Women Engineers Code) Conference is organized by undergraduate women at Harvard University and is an initiative of Harvard Women in CS to foster a safe and encouraging environment for women in tech.
Unfortunately, the 2022 event is over, but keep an eye out for the 2023 Conference.

Uber She++
Uber’s She++ event celebrates diversity and inclusivity. It’s a two-day event that includes discussions with Uber’s senior officials, a fireside conversation with Uber’s female engineers, and much more about the company’s culture. She++ is all about celebrating women in technology!
Registration for the same will begin shortly(in March 2022).

Pride Summit(Lesbians Who Tech)
Lesbians Who Tech & Allies presents the Pride Summit event every year and brings in some great names from business, politics, design, and obviously tech. This Summit is an opportunity to come together, connect & organize on some of today’s most pressing topics in the tech industry & beyond. Registrations for the same are NOW LIVE! Check it out HERE!

And I’m still dreaming of having countless conference tickets lying around while writing this. How on earth are they so expensive!!

Coding Events

Girl Hackathon by Google
Well, the coding event to top the list is the Girl Hackathon by Google for all the female tech enthusiasts around the world. It is a team-based program for women only, so get your girls together and register for this program. The winners will get the opportunity to interview with Google and win exciting cash prizes.
The clock is ticking! Register for this ASAP!

Flipkart Girls Wanna Code
<Girls Wanna Code/> is an initiative that started out in 2018 with an objective to promote women’s tech talent and give them an opportunity to work with the best minds in technology in India. The initiative aims to target women’s tech talent outside premier technology campuses like IITs, NITs, etc. to ensure more equitable participation.
Registration: From February to March. Keep an eye out on D2C.

Code Jam I/O for Women
Code Jam to I/O for Women is one way of bringing women (students and professionals) from around the globe together, working to solve tough algorithmic challenges in a 2.5 hour, single-round coding competition. The Top 150 on the scoreboard receive a ticket and a stipend to participate in virtual Google I/O. Registrations for Code Jam I/O for Women 2022 will start soon. CodeHers Walmart
The CodeHers program is your passport to join Walmart Global Tech India IDC. They have had great successes hiring top talent across colleges pan India. With this challenge, they are providing opportunities to more students out there from across all engineering colleges in India to come and experience this challenge, participate, and have the option to come directly into their interview process. Top coders will get an opportunity to get interviewed for full-time Software Development Engineering roles at Walmart Global Tech, Bangalore/Chennai.

Scholarships

Women Techmakers
Formerly the Google Anita Borg Memorial Scholarship Program, Google’s Women Techmakers (WTM) program aims to create gender equality in the tech industry by encouraging women to excel and take leadership roles in this field. The aim of this scholarship is to build a world where women can carve a niche in tech.

Nutanix heart Women in Technology Scholarships
Nutanix is are offering up to eleven scholarships to students in the United States, India, the United Kingdom, Serbia, and Australia who want to apply their passion for technology while advancing women in the field to make a positive impact on the industry and the planet.

The only failure is not trying.
So be prepared to apply this year and the next and then next year too!

Mentorships and Fellowships

Rails Girls Summer of Code
Rails Girls Summer of Code is a global fellowship program for women and non-binary coders. Students receive a three-month scholarship to work on existing Open Source projects and expand their skill set.

GirlScript Summer of Code
GirlScript Summer Of Code is a three-month-long Open-Source Program conducted every summer by the GirlScript Foundation. With constant efforts, participants contribute to numerous projects under the extreme guidance of skilled mentors over these months.
Unfortunately, the registration for this year has ended, but next year you can surely apply around the month of February.

Learn IT! Girl!
It’s a 12-week intensive mentorship program. This program was born as the project of the Romanian and Polish recipients of the Google Anita Borg Scholarship in 2014 as a way to help realize Anita Borg’s vision of 50% women in computing by 2020. After the success of the first edition, “Learn IT, Girl” has grown to an international team for the third edition.
Registration starts in Autumn

GirlScript Winter Mentorship
GirlScript Winter of Contributing is a three-month newly established initiative by GirlScript Foundation to be conducted during winters. GWOC encourages individuals to share their knowledge and ideas to develop technical skills and gain valuable experience in the field of tech education. Over the course of the program, participants can contribute to a variety of themes under the guidance of an expert facilitator.

Intuit Augment Program
Intuit is inviting young women technologists to be part of a mentorship program. This is in line with their commitment to power prosperity amongst young engineers to be industry-ready with guidance from domain experts. The mentorship program is specifically designed to equip budding women engineers to develop core competencies and complement their career aspirations.

Wootech Mentorship
WooTech, standing for “Women Wooing Technology” hopes to provide a mentorship platform to women in technology and guide them in their careers. The mentorship platform is open to everyone including students, working professionals, or just anyone curious about technology. They do peer-to-peer and professional-to-professional mentor-mentee matches in line with a standard mentorship program depending on the availability of mentors and mentees in the field of interest.
Registration starts in Autumn.
