On Tuesday 27, 2017 the New Jersey Jackals and the Sussex County Miners game took place at Yogi Berra Stadium.

Hundreds of people attended , however there were more empty seats than occupied.

During the game you could hear the roaring of the fans load every single person of the audience with hope, happiness, and enjoyable moments by clapping and singing during the half times.

Kids, grandparents, young men and women, were enjoying the game that was taking place in their town as if it was the last game they would see.

Some Journalist students from a Montclair State University boot camp interviewed some of the players including Mike Tamburino right after their warmups.

Mike Tamburino, 26, a pitcher for the Miners’ team, told the reporters he went through two surgeries while in college, adding that the first surgery was the worst one.

With his second surgery on his elbow he thought about giving up on the sport. But while he watched others he felt encouraged to not give up anymore.

When asked for his future Tamburino said he sees himself still playing in the next five years. But five years ago Tamburino thought he’d be in the major leagues already.

“The higher you get, the better it is”- Tamburino said.

Joseph Redmon is the general manager for New Jersey Jackals, probably one of the youngest managers around. Graduated from Montclair State University in 2015 with a finance field.

Originally from Paterson NJ, and currently in Caldwell because of his current job as a manager. When young, Redmon was also involved in sports, such as hockey.

Redmon states that he was not good at baseball, though he has a passion for it.

“Nobody wants to lose but to win eventually.”- Joseph Redmon.

As manager of the team he says he is pretty close to the players and also makes sure that the players have everything they need.

With both teams playing hard, the Jackals fans had a very supportive individual known as the trumpet guy who plays a trumpet to cheer up people.

Not to mention the mascot called Rocky. A big red eagle with hat, shorts and shirt matching his color.

Kids running from side to side with popcorn and hot dogs on their hands while someone caught a home run was an entertainment for everyone.

Towards the half time of the game laughter was heard by all the audience as someone roughly yelled out to a player from the Miners team: “You are shorter than my grandmother.”

For the audience and the loyal Jackals fans, it was a victory for their win.
