I have been coding since I was 15 and since then I really dislike (in fact, I hate) the t-shirts and hoodies that only DEVELOPERS usually wear. I am sure, a small portion of the clothing industry works only for us to produce some code-written or star-wars image printed t-shirts.

We should stop this industry from portraying us as IT-geeks and believe me, guys, no girl in the world wants to know you are a developer or some IT-geek.

I do not mean you should hide it; in fact, we are geniuses but non-verbal-communication is important, especially when you are trying to have an eye-contact with a girl in the company — which, yeah, we all do.

So, what to do? How to dress to impress, but stay true to yourself?

Let’s start with simple rules.

Rule n.1 — do not follow every fashion rule!

Fashion is like a technology trend that is constantly changing. You don’t have to follow them all but it’s better to adopt a few styles and apply them in particular cases.

For example,

A) No-meeting but just hands-on-keyboards day: put on something good-looking, yet casual — No, I’m not talking about shitty pajamas.

B) Meeting/Dinner day: Put on smart-casual.

C) Party time!; Act like a gentleman — tuxedo or a nice-looking suit.

Rule n.2 — Size Guide
