Features of zkRouter-based Cross-chain Bridge
- Trustlessness
zkRouter can transfer consensus status independently as long as an honest participant enters, instead of depending on the other trust facilities. Therefore, the bridge building on zkRouter does not require third-party verification, and only requires an honest node to ensure that the source chain consensus proof can be synchronized to the target chain. ZKP-based cross-chain bridges will stop working if there’s no honest node, but this won’t cause any security issues.
In addition, any person can run nodes to become ZKP generators and relayers to obtain rewards, while the target chain light clients as verifiers are open source contracts that operate according to contracts without the risk of dishonesty.
- Higher TPS (Transactions per second) performance
Because the consensus includes the current state of the blockchain, the generated Proof of consensus can verify multiple transactions simultaneously. The theoretical upper limit of TPS for zkRouter is equal to that of public blockchains.

- Lower gas fee cost
Through zero-knowledge proof technology, a large amount of computation generated during the consensus process can be transferred to off-chain trusted sources, thereby generating concise proof results that only require relatively little gas to verify on the chain.
