Christian Torres, a senior at Miami Dade College, is currently the head of customer service at Publix. Although he has been working there for four years, he does have a passion for psychology. He was always interested in this field and hopes to one day become a therapist. He faces some obstacles that prevent him from achieving his goal.

Torres, 22, has had this passion since he started college, but his part time job is getting in his way, mainly for financial reasons. It’s just him and his mom helping around the house, so he pays rent. Since his father is absent, he must assume the role of the “man of the house”.

At the end of the day, Torres wants to manage his schedule and “find his tempo. He wants to let the people that hear his story know that if you have a lot going on, take it one day at a time. The light is shining brightly at the end of the tunnel, so we need to take things one step at a time.
