Teaching overseas or working with students that are migrant or immigrant means understanding the social and emotional needs of the Third…Culture Kid. Third Culture Kids are those children that all too often feel as though they have no true identity in one location that they can call home. Third Culture Kids are both immigrant and emigrant. They are refugees from war-torn cultures and children of parents seeking a better life. They are children of businessmen and businesswomen that travel the world. They are children of military families, and sometimes they are children of families in mission work.
